Hall of Fame
The Hall of Fame recognizes select individuals of exemplary character who are graduates or retired staff of Hinsdale South High School. The foundation seeks nominations for alumni who have made significant contributions to their profession, to their community or to society in general. The foundation requests nominations of retired staff members who have continued to contribute significantly to the school community or have been advocates for or have brought distinction to the school. 2017 Hall of fame videoDavid Geslak was inducted into Hinsdale South's Hall of Fame in November of 2017 and he was asked to give the Keynote Speech. In his speech he shares the challenges he had to overcome throughout his time in high school and career so he could fulfill his mission of helping the children, adults and families impacted by autism.

2013
Sergeant James F. Borsilli graduated from Hinsdale South High School in 1982. He attended Benedictine University graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in 1986. Sgt. Borsilli joined the Darien Police Department and graduated from the Police Training Institute at the University of Illinois in 1988. As a police officer he served the community as a field training officer and as an evidence technician before serving for two years in the Detective Division. In 2002 he was promoted to sergeant and served as a Shift Supervisor, provided oversight to the department’s Auxiliary Police section and served as a department union representative. In 2006 he graduated from Northwestern University, Center for Public Safety, School of Police Staff and Command. Throughout his career Sgt. Borsilli received numerous letters of thanks and commendation from the city of Darien, its citizens and surrounding police departments. Sgt. Borsilli passed away February 5, 2012 having faithfully served for 24 years. He is survived by family and friends, including his two sons, Nikolas and Daniel. The city of Darien permanently retired badge #301 to honor his service, dedication to duty and willingness to sacrifice for the good of the city and its citizens.
Mr. Robert Mather graduated from Hinsdale South High School in 1970. After graduating from the Rochester Institute of Technology with a degree in social work, Mr. Mather attended law school at DePaul University where he graduated with a Juris Doctorate. Mr. Mather has been a civil rights attorney in the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice since 1984. He is currently a Senior Trial Attorney in the Disability Rights Section. This section is responsible for the enforcement of Titles I, II, and III of the Americans with Disabilities Act. He was a member of the legal team that developed the regulations for Titles II and III of the Americans with Disabilities Act. He also served as counsel for the U.S. Commission on Education of the Deaf, and as a member of the Federal Communications Commission’s Emergency Access Advisory Committee.

Mr. Grant Stuart graduated from Hinsdale South in 1986. After two years studying acting at DePaul University’s Goodman School of Drama, Grant graduated from Loyola University with a BA in Communications (TV/Film) and Theater, where he was awarded Loyola's Best Actor for his role as troubled teen Alan Strang in "Equus." After working as an assistant for the Emmy Award-winning writing team at ABC's "One Life to Live," from 1996 –2000 he served as a coordinator, assistant producer, and producer at ABC Primetime Marketing, where he produced On-Air Co-Branded commercials that promoted events such as the Super Bowl and Pro Bowl on ABC, and the Stephen King mini-series "The Shining." Grant also created a video presentation for Congress’ Office of National Drug Control Policy highlighting ABC’s anti-drug programming commitment, which coincided with an ABC On-Air promotional campaign called "March Against Drugs," featuring ABC News talent Diane Sawyer. In this role, he also won several awards, including the PROMAX World Class Award for ABC.com On-Air promos, a PROMAX Gold Award for Electronic Signage with the ABC Times Square Jumbotron, as well as the PROMAX Silver Award for “Spin City/New York City Metro Card” local promotion. From 2000-present, he has served as the Vice President of Co-Branded Content at VH1, specializing in On-Air commercials that engage the audience and break through the clutter by seamlessly blending the channel's music and pop culture voice with dvertisers' messages and objectives. In addition to On-Air Integrated Marketing content, Grant directs production of select VH1 image and episodic promos, Upfront presentations, VH1 “Save the Music” on-air public service announcements, and yearly big event promos like the "Do Something Awards" and "VH1 Divas." He also works closely with Hollywood movie studios on MTV Networks productions of high-profile On-Air promos for titles such as “Sherlock Holmes," “Sex and the City 2," and the upcoming "Les Miserables." Mr. Stuart currently resides in Brooklyn, New York.

After graduating from Northern Illinois University with a degree in psychology, Mr. Walsh studied improv acting at the Annoyance Theater, Second City, Improv Olympic,and Players Workshop. Mr. Walsh began performing stand-up comedy in 1991 as a co-founder of the Upright Citizens Brigade, which ran for three seasons on Comedy Central. Following this success, Mr. Walsh has co-founded two successful Upright Citizens Brigade comedy theaters in New York and Los Angeles. Throughout this time, Mr. Walsh also appeared on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Dog Bites Man on Comedy Central, and Outsourced on NBC. Recently, Mr. Walsh has appeared in such films as The Hangover, Old School, and Ted. In 2010, Walsh created, wrote, directed, produced, and starred in the improvised comedy series Players for Spike TV. In early 2012, Walsh directed his first feature film High Road, an indie-comedy he co-wrote. Walsh also hosts a weekly comedy podcast, Bear Down at http://www.art19.com/shows/bear-down where he gathers with fellow Chicagoans in Los Angeles to discuss the Chicago Bears. Currently, Walsh co-stars as Mike McClintock in the HBO series Veep. Mr. Walsh resides near Studio City, CA with his wife Morgan and their three children Jude, Emmet, and Celia.

Captain Scott Corwin '95 (deceased) - Scott was actively involved in sports, and was the captain of the Football and Hockey (club) teams. He went on to West Point Military Academy where he graduated in 1999. He received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from West Point, and his Master’s Degree in Engineering Management from the University of Missouri-Rolla. His awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Kosovo Campaign Medal, the NATO medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Senior Parachutist Badge. Captain Corwin served as a Light Equipment Platoon Leader, Sapper Platoon Leader, and Company Executive Officer. Captain Corwin served a tour of duty in Kosovo and served as the Battalion Training Officer for the 27th Engineer Battalion. Captain Scott Corwin is being honored posthumously, as he was tragically killed on May 27, 2004 in Savannah, GA. Visit the Captain Scott Corwin Foundation website.
Ross Rice '74 - After graduating from Lewis University and attending New Agent Training at the FBI Academy in Quantico, VA, he was appointed as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in 1980. From 1980 thru 1985, he was part of an FBI team that investigated organized crime in Chicago. From 1986-1999, Mr. Rice worked in the south suburbs as an agent in the FBI’s Orland Park, IL Office. In 1999, he was reassigned to the Chicago FBI office as the Media Coordinator and Office Spokesman, and later as the Public Affairs Director. In this role, he has developed “Chicago’s Most Wanted”, an FBI themed television show, and “Bandit Tracker Chicago”, an internet website used to profile serial bank robbers. During his career, he has received numerous awards and recognitions, as well as being recognized as an expert witness by the United States District Court. Mr. Rice currently resides in Darien with his wife Cindy and their two sons, Michael and Andrew.
